MY TRAINING

FOUNDATION TRAINING

Yoga Alliance 200 hour

I completed my foundation training course in Ashtanga & Yin Yoga Teacher at Bristol School of Yoga in December 2018 with Melanie Cooper.  During this course, I studied the main elements of both yoga disciplines as well as developing a working understanding of human anatomy and physiology (as it relates to yoga practice) and yoga philosophy.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Building on my foundation

I regularly update my knowledge by attending and participating in Teacher Trainings and Workshops. Recent CPD include:

  • Anatomy trainings led by David Keil, Andy Gill, Stu Girling and Karen Kirkness; 

  • Asana Adjustment workshop facilitated by Melanie Cooper and Norman Blair and Scott Johnson;

  • Ashtanga Second Series workshops offered by David Swenson and Sarah Vaughan;

  • Ashtanga & Somatics workshops with Lucy Crawford

  • Workshops in Twisting, Standing Poses & Backbending with Joey Miles workshop; 

  • Yoga Nidra teacher training with Melanie Cooper & Jennie Wadsten;

  • Yoga Sutras, Pranayama & meditation with Gregor Maehle;

  • Yoga Philosophy course with Daniel Simpson

  • Yin & Meridians trainings led by Norman Blair and Kate Henley 

  • Emergency First Aid at work certificate.

I am so fortunate to have studied with and benefitted from the extensive knowledge and wisdom of my teachers: Sarai-Harvey Smith, Melanie Cooper, Scott Johnson, Sarah Vaughan & Joey Miles. I am deeply indebted to them for guiding me on my yoga journey.  

My particular heartfelt thanks to Sarai for the safe space she provided for me to grow, heal and acknowledge who I truly am.
